In this episode I’m sharing the neuroscience behind upgrading your identity, and how to create new neural pathways that help you shift your emotions, thoughts and actions. The thing that I love about identity work is that it doesn't matter who you are, where you come from, where you're starting, what you look like, or who you love: we all have the ability to change our identities and in doing so, change our lives. I'll share the nervous system science about rewiring your body and how breathwork can be used as a tool for upgrading your identity. When you start to do this work, it's not a matter of if it's going to stick, if you will be successful, if your reality will upgrade; it's a matter of when.

What I talk about:

  • What identity work is and why it’s important
  • The neuroscience behind how we can change our brains
  • Why we have unconscious habits and behaviors
  • How the nervous system responds to change
  • A simple breathwork practice to shift how you feel in your body
  • Being mindful of how breathwork influences you

“Our identity is composed of the things that we do consistently: our personality, our actions, our behaviors, our feelings, our thoughts, our expressions. Having a daily practice like breathwork where you are intentionally creating a specific emotional state is so powerful, and to me, seriously, a cheat code to life. Because the moment that you start to shift your emotional state, you're giving yourself an invitation to also shift your thoughts and shift your actions.” - Ava Johanna
