#2482026/01/28(水)Elementary school students even study at a cafeこの時期は、受験シーズンです。 This time of the year is entrance exam season. At the cafe I often go to, I often see students studying for exams. They're usually middle or high schoolers, but lately I've also started seeing elementary school kids studying with their parents. They're probably skipping school to focus on exam prep, and seeing kids around 12 years old studying really touches my heart.【Today’s words】受験(じゅけん)=試験を受けること(しけんを うけること)/ It literally means to take an exam, but it usually means to take an entrance exam for a university, high school, etc.受験生(じゅけんせい)/ It literally means a person who takes an exam, but it usually means students preparing for an entrance exam.心を打たれる(こころを うたれる)/ to touch my heart, to strike my heart ※ In Japan, mostly we go to middle school for 3 years and high school for 3 years. And mostly high school students (sometimes middle school students too)in the third grade don’t have to go to school from around December to prepare for an exam (they take one January ~ March).★This post is also available on the broadcast channel (Japanese daily tips) of my Instagram. 【https://www.instagram.com/channel/AbbOi9lyhNtGwo6A/?igsh=enhqNGRyajhobnZ5】
