#26 Tiziana Agnello (Love Thy Beast) / Jill Bressler (Graphic Designer) "Persevering, Taking Risks, and Knowing Yourself"

from i want what SHE has · host Shana Falana and Theresa Widmann

In this week's Girl Talk, Shana and Theresa discuss the New York Public Library's Podcast episode featuring Aja Monet interviewing Roxanne Gay and the documentary film, She's Beautiful When She's Angry. Tiziana Agnello, Stylist and Founder of sustainable pet accessory line, Love Thy Beast talks about how she made it in NYC starting out with $500. She's shares her journey from student and textile lover finding her dream job at a fabric store to a styling career and eventually the opening of her own business. Her products have been placed in West Elm, Urban Outfitters, Crate and Barrel, and can be found online and at the coveted Grand Central's Holiday Fair. In between her pop up store in Nolita and the opening of her current store on east 5th street in Manhattan she applied and was admitted into Goldman Sachs 10,000 small business cohort. Now she's turning her attention to her own personal self care and a new house in the Hudson Valley. Jill Bressler, Designer turned purpose-driven UX/UI creative shares how she started out in Journalism but realized quickly that creative work was her passion. From working in magazine design in San Francisco to Showtime in NYC, Jill learned to let go of who she thought she had to be and to define success by what really matters to her...and enjoying the process rather than the goal. Fun facts, Jill loves writing fan letters and listening to Dharmapunx. Self care this week is all about minding our own business. Stop worrying about the other person, and just focus on you. It takes a lot of the pressure off of this great journey we call life. Next week we welcome Poet Gold, Performer, Poet and Activist and Anne Macy Hall of Catskill Indigo. Until next week, love yourself and uplift one another.
