Send us Fan MailThe Cattle-Raid of Cooley (Táin Bó Cúalnge) (Tahn Bo Cool nyah) is the central epic of the Ulster cycle.  Ulster is Modern day Northern Ireland Queen Medb (Mayv) of Connaught gathers an army in order to gain possession of the most famous bull in Ireland, which is the property of Daire, a chieftain of Ulster. Connaught where Queen Medb  rules is modern day western Ireland  Because the men of Ulster are afflicted by a debilitating curse ,which was placed on them by the goddess Macha, the seventeen-year-old Cuchulain (Kuh Cool Ann) must defend Ulster single-handedly. The Táin Bó Cuailnge, written more than 1,200 years ago, is Ireland's greatest legend and one of Europe's oldest epics.   In episode 221 we read up to part 6.
