The film marks the returns of Boyle, Garland, and cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle to the series, all of whom worked on the original film, with Cillian Murphy also serving as executive producer.28 Years Later was released in the United Kingdom and the United States by Columbia Pictures through Sony Pictures Releasing on 20 June 2025.
