In 2014, Eric Garner was killed in New York City by a police officer, after being put in a chokehold while being arrested for allegedly selling loose cigarettes. Video footage of the incident generated international attention and sparked widespread debate and protests about the use of force by law enforcement in the United States.Since Eric's death, his mother, Ms. Gwen Carr has been seeking justice for her son and others who have died at the hands of police in NYC and other American cities.
