This week I am joined by David Shepherd. David has been the CEO of The Scandinavian in Copenhagen, Denmark since 2016. a 36-hole facility which has recently been voted as having the number 1 and 2 courses in Denmark. Prior to this David spent over 8 years in the Algarve at Monte Rei Golf and Country Club as Director of Golf which followed on from a successful time at The Belfry Golf Resort as Golf Operations Manager. It's safe to say that David as worked at some of the best clubs in Europe and has a reputation himself to match. I am excited to have David join me as we discuss how he approaches developing his employees. David exemplifies a modern approach to this as he sees the employee as a whole; both the person at home and the member of the team at work. From enabling one of his greenkeeping team to take 6 weeks off to compete in a race across the Atlantic Ocean to his own trips to visit other top courses around the world David takes a proactive approach to development.I hope you enjoy this conversation. This episode is brought to you by Suada.
