291. Eric Allan Eaton – Being Courageous In spite of Fear

from Enlightenment of Change · host Connie Whitman

Connie's motivational quote for today is by – Tracee Ellis Ross, "I am learning every day to allow the space between where I am and where I want to be to inspire me and not terrify me."  This quote stopped me in my tracks after reading it.  I love this concept of allowing space between myself today and my future self.  Being inspired and curious is something I lean into every day.  Yet, not giving in to my fear of failure, not being good enough, and the unknown events that can hinder my personal and professional growth are very real too, and always simmering under the surface.    Wath it on YouTube: https://youtu.be/Dejs18bBA4o   About Eric Allan Eaton:   Recently Eric shared with me that he, too, has been learning to let go of fear. Eric is a hardworking, honest, determined, and self-motivated individual. This Impact Studios production is a collaboration with the Governor family, UTS Faculty of Law and Jumbunna Institute for Indigenous Education and Research. The Last Outlaws teamKatherine Biber - UTS Law Professor and Chief InvestigatorAunty Loretta Parsley - Great-granddaughter of Jimmy Governor and the Governor Family Historian Leroy Parsons - Governor descendant, Narrator and Co-WriterKaitlyn Sawrey - Host, Writer and Senior ProducerFrank Lopez - Writer, Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
