2SSM • The Sopranos (1999)
from Silver Screen Sound Machine Hosted by Silver Screen Sound Machine
"Those goddamn ducks..." This week Dave and Tom are diving head-first into the gabagool-filled jukebox that is The Sopranos Season 1 soundtrack. From the iconic "Woke Up This Morning" by Alabama 3 (they’re from Crewe you know!) that practically whacks you over the head with attitude, to the soulful depths of "Inside of Me", the hypnotic groove of "Mystic Eyes", the rebellious spirit of "I Feel Free", and the lonely highway menace of "State Trooper", the guys break down the songs that helped make Tony's world feel larger than life. Expect plenty of musical wiseguy talk, questionable Italian-American accents, impromptu quizzes, and more bad puns than Paulie Walnuts has tracksuits. So grab yerself a plate of baked ziti, park yourself by the Bada Bing, and join the boys as they cherry-pick the highlights from a soundtrack that's capo di tutti capi of TV music. Because when it comes to The Sopranos, it's not just about who gets clipped—it's about what was playing on the stereo when it happened. 🎵🍝🚬 BONUS MATERIAL: Kula Shaker - Govinda Live At The Plymouth Pavillion 26 Jan 1997 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SWw9q7PlLbY
