3/18/25: Anthony Mackie; Luigi Mangione Fund; Jamie Foxx Goes at People Who Are Anti-DEI

from Conscious Approach

Anthony Mackie has been making the rounds after the release of the new Captain America movie, and he stopped by The Pivot podcast to discuss a myriad of topics. Among them is his belief that we tell kids lies when we explain to them that if they make the grades and work hard, they'll be successful, when in reality, success is not earned, but given. He argues we should set the record straight with kids so they understand that hard work doesn't secure success. Do you agree with his take? We also touch on Luigi Mangione, the man who is alleged to have un-alived UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson, and the fact that his defense fund is close to $730,000 after someone anonymously donated $36,500 to support the effort. What do you make of the sizable amount of public support being afforded to him? Plus, Jamie Foxx has a message for folks who are anti-DEI: if you don't like the idea of DEI, then "give us our stuff back," suggesting that if DEI is such an issue, then the world should stop participating in and making money off of Black exploits and return them to their rightful owners. Do you agree with this? Additionally, we also give our two-cents on Angel Reese's continued shade towards the WNBA and it's salary structure in lieu of winning $50K as part of the Unrivaled league, the baton track-and-field incident heard round the world with Virginia high school athlete Alaila Everett and efforts being made to defend her character, and audio of Jonathan Majors admitting to aggressing his ex-girlfriend being made public.
