Med inspirasjon fra forsvaret og egen samisk kultur skapte han det som nå er et vekstprogram for ungdom basert på villmarksterapi. I programmet tar Espen og teamet med seg ungdom med moderate til alvorlige lidelser, ofte relatert til rus og psykiatri, ut på tur i villmarka. Dette viser seg å ha en fantastisk effekt for mange som ikke har fått den hjelpen de trenger gjennom tradisjonell behandling.
