3 Good Reasons for Business Owners to Take Time Off

from The Accountability Minute:Business Acceleration|Productivity · host Anne Bachrach

As a business owner, you are probably used to working close to 7 days a week and for over 8 hours per day. On average, most business owners work more hours per day and for more days per week than those who work for other people. Why? Well, if you own a business, then you doubtlessly know the answer. When you have opportunities, you need to chase them, right? Every day that you don’t work is full of missed opportunities! Many times we feel as though we need to put in all of the time that we possibly can. In a lot of ways, these ideas are absolutely right! The only problem, however, lies in the fact that this kind of commitment is not sustainable forever. You can’t expect to give 110% when you, as a person, can only regenerate 100%. At some point, you are going to run out of steam. You are going to suffer a loss of creativity, you are going to stop thinking objectively, and you are going to be physically exhausted, not to mention the impact on your family life. On that note, over the next 3 days we will explore 3 good reasons for every business owner to take some time off of work, even if it isn’t for a prolonged period of time. In fact, time off could even be a half day, a day here and there, or a vacation for one weekend, just to get out of town. The point, however, is that you NEED to get SOME time off, and there are some very good reasons why.  So, tune in tomorrow for reason #1. Do you find yourself constantly procrastinating, even though you know you have important tasks to complete?
