Üle kümne aasta on Eestis olnud võimalik hakata geenidoonoriks. Kui seni ei ole andmete kasutamiseks head ja mugavat väljundit olnud, siis peagi on see personaalmeditsiini lahenduste kaudu muutumas. Tervise arengu instituut (TAI) viis koos partneriga ellu projekti, millega loodi valmisolek geneetiliste andmete laialdasemaks kasutuselevõtuks arstide ja õdede töös. Saates rääkisid projektist lähemalt TAI personaalmeditsiini projektijuht Piret Kuhlbars ning tervise ja heaolu infosüsteemide keskuse (TEHIK) projektijuht Meelis Tivas. Saatest selgus, et projekti raames valmis personaalmeditsiini arvutuskeskkond, milles on olemas võimekus arvutada südame-veresoonkonnahaiguste ja rinnavähi geneetilist riski.
