346. Matthew's Gospel - Chapters 27/28 July 31, 2023

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 31. I will then give praise to my wife. Verses 10-31 of Proverb 31 are entitled "The Virtuous Wife." My wife is the most important person in the world to me. We've not been married 27 1/2 years and each year keeps getting better and better. I would not be the man I am today had I not met my wife. I would like to encourage all men listening to this podcast today to treat your wife as though she is the most important person in the world. If you treat her like a queen, she will become more and more like the "virtuous wife" talked about in this proverb. Today we will complete Chapter 27 of Matthew's gospel and begin chapter 28. (If you did not get a chance to listen to yesterday's podcast I invite you to listen to that prior to this podcast). Today we go over verses 57-66 - Jesus is buried in the tomb of a man named Joseph. I give a few details of who this man was. We then discuss the chief priests and Pharisees coming to Pilate to ask for a guard to be placed at the tomb of Jesus. Pilate once again distances himself from any affair having to do with Jesus. We close by going over verses 1-8 of Chapter 28. Here, we discuss the resurrection of Jesus (and the details surrounding the moving of the huge stone that had been placed at the tomb).
