241. Walking in Humility (OT - #8) - David #1 March 6, 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 6. I will then key in on verse 23 - For the commandment is a lamp, And the law a light; Reproofs of instruction are the way of life. Friends, we should take to heart the instruction that our parents give us. If we listen to what our parents say, there is a very good chance that we can avoid serious mishaps in our life. Today I will continue my study on people in the OT who walked in humility. Today we will begin the story of a young man named David. He is found in the Book of 1 Samuel. In Chapter #16, verse 7 we are told that God does not look at the outward appearance, but He looks at the heart. I suggest we do the same. I will then go over 1 Samuel, Chapter #17 and go over verses 26 & 29. In these two verses, David is rebuked by his older brother Eliab for coming to the battlefield and checking on him and David's other two brothers. However, David is not swayed by this rebuke. Instead, he challenges the army of Israel to realize that the giant Goliath is nothing that the God of Israel can't take care of. As a result, when we get to verses 48-51 of that same chapter, David runs toward Goliath with a sling-shot and a stone and kills him! CALL to ACTION - I ask everyone to ask God what is the giant in your life that you need to get rid of? Suggested scripture reading - 1. Reread today's proverb, Proverb 6 in its entirety (this is one of the best of all of the proverbs). 2. Reread the 17th chapter of 1 Samuel in its entirety.

240. He has delivered us from the Power of Darkness - March 3, 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 3. I will then key in on verse 29 - Do not devise evil against your neighbor, For he dwells by you for safety's sake. Friends, one of the first things we do when we move into a new neighborhood, or if someone moves into a neighborhood next to you is that you reach out to them and greet them! We should have good relations with our neighbors so that when we have a need we can call on them. Today I will go over a portion of the 1st chapter of Colossians. Paul wrote this while he was in a prison in Rome. And yet, he encourages them to be strong in the Lord. I will go over four things that I would like for you to consider: 1. God wants you to have wisdom (I will read verses 9 & 10); God tells us in these two verses that if we read His word that we will have knowledge and that we will have wisdom; 2. He wants us to be strengthened with all might (I will read verses 11 & 12) - because of the Holy Spirit (which was given to us when we received Jesus as our Lord) - we now have the same spirit in us that Jesus had in Him; 3. He has delivered us from the power of darkness and into His Light (I will read verses 13 & 14) - we all used to walk in darkness, but now we are walking in the light! We now don't have to be embarrassed by what we do. We do our best to do the right thing whenever we can; 4. Jesus is the image of the invisible God (I will read verses 15-18); this puts aside all doubt about how the Earth was created. If anyone wants to know what God is like, simply look at Jesus! CALL to ACTION - Consider your life carefully and be thankful for all the things God has given to you. We are all so blessed! Suggested scripture reading - Please read the entire book of Colossians (four short chapters).

239. Walking in Humility (OT-#7) - Ruth - March 2, 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today, we will be going over Proverb 2. I will then key in on verse 6 - For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding. Friends, to really acquire wisdom, you must have the Fear of the Lord. That is the beginning of knowledge (Proverb 1:7); which, as you apply that knowledge will lead to understanding; will will eventually lead to wisdom. Today we will continue our study on the topic of humility. Today we will look at a woman named Ruth. Ruth had married a man from a family that had come from the land of Judah. She had been with him ten years, when he died. She had fallen in love with her mother-in-law Naomi. Naomi had now lost her husband and both of her sons, and was in a foreign land. She wished to move back to her homeland of Judah. She loved her daughters-in-law, but suggested that they go back to their real parents. One chose that path, but Ruth "clung" to Naomi. I will read Ruth, Chapter 1, verses 16-17. Ruth humbled herself before Naomi. Then, she humbles herself before Boaz, a friend of Naomi's former husband. I will read Chapter 2: verses 10-13. She ends up marrying this man, Boaz, and had a child with him. She became the great, great, Grandmother of King David of Israel. CALL to ACTION - Continue to look for opportunities to pay people compliment who look like they could use one, and help out anyone you see that could use a hand. Suggested scripture reading: If you can find time, read this short book of the Bible titled Ruth. It is short (only four chapters) and is a study in humility.

238. Walking in Humility (OT-#6)- Rehab - March 1, 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 1. I will then key in on verse 7 - The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, But fools despise wisdom and instruction. I will then read the commentary of my Bible and share what it has on this verse. Friends, all wisdom begins with having a reverence for God and who He is. For anyone that shuns God, or dismisses Him as being real basically forfeits the right to have wisdom. We must come to the place where we acknowledge Him for who He is if we are to live the life that He would have us live. Today, I will continue our study on humility. I will introduce you to woman named Rahab, a harlot who lived in the town of Jericho. I will read the entire 2nd chapter of the Book of Joshua. Joshua sent two spies to spy out the land. They immediately went to where you could receive answers to your questions - the house of the prostitute. When they came to her door she asked them for favor and asked that when the Israelites would ultimately prevail over their town, that she and her immediate family would be saved. When the king of Jericho heard about these spies, he sent for them. But, Rahab lied that they had already gone, risking her life in the prostitute. Because of what she did, she is now one of the heroines of the Bible. She is the great, great, great grandmother of King David of Israel and is listed as one of the women of great faith in the Book of Hebrews (Chapter #11). CALL to ACTION - Pay a compliment to someone who looks like they could use it and help anyone who looks like they have a need and could use some help. Suggested scripture reading: Please reread Chapter #2 of Joshua and read Chapter #3 as well.

476. Job, Chapter #38 (Part 1) - God Challenges Job to Teach Him - January 29, 2024
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 29. I will then key in on verses 15 & 17 - The rod and rebuke give wisdom, But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother. Correct your son, and he will give you rest; Yes, he will give delight to your soul. Friends, we need to instruct our children in the way they should go (Proverb 22:6). On today's podcast we will continue our study on the Book of Job. Today we will begin Chapter #38. In this Chapter God begins His discourse with Job. He challenges Job. It must have been a pretty uncomfortable situation for him! By the end of this podcast I ask that you consider three things:1. God challenges Job to teach Him.2. God reminds Job that He was the creator of all.3. God remind Job that is in control of the elements of the world.Call to Action - Ask yourself this question - Do you ever challenge God? Do you try to tell Him the way things are - sensing that you are right? Suggested Scripture reading - Reread the proverb of the day, Proverb 29 in its entirety; reread the chapter of the day, Job, Chapter #38 in its entirety.

474. Job-Chapter #37 God Still Speaks to us Today - January 25, 2024
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 25. I will then key in on verse 23 - The north wind brings forth rain, And a backbiting tongue an angry countenance. On today's podcast we will continue our study on the Book of Job. Today we will be taking a close look at Chapter #37. This is the last chapter in which Elihu is the narrator. Upon completion of this podcast there are three points that I would like for you to consider:1. God is still speaking to us today (1 Kings 19:11-13)2. God controls the elements of this world (Psalm 65:7)3. We cannot look directly at the sun (Exodus 34:29-33)Going back to our verse of the day, I looked up the word backbiting. It means malicious talk about someone who is not present. Friends, this would be gossip. Nothing good comes from gossip and we should avoid it if at all possible.Call to Action - Ask yourself this question - Do I hear from God (or the Holy Spirit?). God can speak to us through His Word (the Holy Bible), through our spouse, our children, our parents, our grandchildren, our grandparents, our bosses, or through everyday circumstances in our lives. We need to be open to the fact that He desires to speak to His children.Suggested Scripture reading: Reread the proverb of the day, Proverb 25 in its entirety; Please reread our chapter of the day, Job, Chapter #37 in its entirety

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 24. I will then key in on verse 12 - If you say, "Surely we did not know this," Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds? Friends, the bottom line - God watches all that we do. He would prefer that people be righteous, but some simply will choose not to do so. On today's podcast, we will continue our study on the Book of Job. We will be taking a close look at Chapter #36. Upon completion of this podcast I ask that you consider three points:1. God is Mighty in Strength and Understanding.2. God prefers that people be righteous.3. God deals harshly with the evil.Scripture verses which I will stress are: 1 Kings 6: verses 11-13; Hebrews 6: verses 3-6; & Revelation 12: verses 7-12.Call to Action - Where are you in this whole process? If we choose righteousness, blessings & good things will follow. Today we will continue our study on the Book of Job. We will be taking a look at Chapter #35 today. By the end of this podcast I would ask that you consider three things:1. Elihu Condemns Self-righteousness.2. Being righteous (or sinning) does not move God.3. Choosing evil will only affect you.Call to action - Ask yourself if you are living a righteous life? Or - do you sometimes fall into the mistake that Job made -allowing pride into your life, and making the mistake of trusting your righteousness?Suggested Scripture reading - Reread the proverb of the day, Proverb 22 in its entirety; rereading our chapter of the day, Job Chapter #35 in its entirety.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 19. I will then key in on verse 11 - The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, And his glory is to overlook a transgression. Friends, on today's podcast I will share a bit of my testimony. We will go over Romans 12: verses 1 & 2 & 2 Corinthians 3:18. These verses tell us that, once we become Christians, that we need to change the way we think - but that it can be a slow process. We change a bit at a time, a thought at a time. The important thing is to continue changing and continuing to become more and more like Jesus.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 18. I will then key in on verse 15 - The heart of the prudent acquires knowledge, And the ear of the wise seeks knowledge. Friends, I looked up the definition of the word - prudent. It is an adjective (a way of acting) - it says acting with or showing care for the future; marked by wisdom or judiciousness; cautious, discreet; thrifty, frugal. All of these have positive connotations, meaning it is a good thing to be prudent. On today's podcast we will continue our study on the Book of Job. We will be taking a look at Chapter #34 today. In verses 2-15 Elihu addresses Job's 3 friends and in verses 16-33 Elihu addresses Job directly. By the end of this lesson there are four things I would like for you to consider:1. We need to have discernment.2. Should one who hates justice govern?3. God does not show partiality (see James 2: verses 1-13)4. God hears the cry of those that reach out to HimCall to Action - Ask yourself if you are discerning about what you hear (or allow yourself to listen to?)Suggested Scripture reading - Reread today's proverb, Proverb 18 in its entirety; reread today's chapter, Job, Chapter #34 in its entirety

I will then key in on verse 24 - Wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding, But the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth. Friends, although Job demonstrated that he had wisdom in much of the Book of Job, he allowed himself to fall into the sin of pride. Today we will be continuing our study of this wonderful book. We will take a look at Chapter #33. Upon completion of today's lesson there are three points that I would like for you to consider:1. Elihu confronts Job.2. We have no right to question God3. Today we will continue our study on the Book of Job. Today we will take a look at Chapter #32. We are introduced to a character called Elihu. 465. The Patriarchs of Old (#3) - Isaac - January 12, 2024
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 12. I will then key in on verse 26 - The righteous should choose his friends carefully, For the way of the wicked leads them astray. Friends, we will eventually become like the people we hang out with the most. So, select your friends carefully. Today we will take a look at lessons we can learn from the life of Isaac found in the Book of Genesis. Upon completion of this lesson four points that I would like for everyone to consider are these:1. It is good to have patience (James 1:2-4)2. It is important to pray to God3. It is important for the husband and wife to be on the same page.4. Our children watch what we do (and say).Call to action - Are you demonstrating patience in the way you live your life?; Do you pray to God when something in your life happens that you weren't expecting?; Are you and your spouse on the same page?Suggested Scripture reading - Reread today's proverb, Proverb 12 in its entirety.

464 - Job, Chapter #31 - Job's Final Plea with God - January 11, 2024
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 11. I will then go over verse 3a - The integrity of the upright will guide them. This is the theme of the 31st chapter of Job. We will discuss this chapter in detail. This chapter is 40 verses of discourse that Job has with God, pleading his case of his innocence. Friends, Job is an example of a person who had a close relationship with God and lived a life of integrity. His life previous to Chapters 1 & 2 had been exemplary. People both young and old looked at Job as an example that should be followed. When satan took away his material possessions, all of his children were killed, and his health was taken away from him, he could have given up and cursed God (as his wife told him to do), but he didn't do it. He consistently maintained his integrity and never wavered.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 10. I will then key in on verse 22 - The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it. Friends, if you have invited Jesus into your heart and have made Him the Lord of your life the Bible promises that you will be blessed. This verse also promised that you will not have any sorrow. On today's podcast we will continue our study on the Book of Job. We will discuss Chapter #30. I will highlight verses 16 & 20. The main point of going over these two verses is that Job was unaware that there was a devil (satan), and he is blaming God for the situation that he is now in. He feels that God has let him down and has sunk into despair & depression. I discuss in this podcast that God is NOT to blame for what has happened to Job - satan is! I will then read Psalm 23 & the fact that God is with us at all times.

525. Gideon Hesitates When Called by God - April 5, 2024
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 5. I will then key in on verse 18 -Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice with the wife of your youth. Friends, if you are married, you have no need to look outside of your marriage for other women. Your wife is all you will ever need. Take good care of her! On today's lesson, we will be introduced to a man named Gideon. He was called of the Lord and given an assignment - and yet, he hesitated. We will learn that Moses also had hesitated when God had called him to deliver the Israelites from the oppression of Pharaoh. We also learn that the great prophet, Jeremiah, also hesitated when he was called. Friends, when God calls you to step out and fulfill a mission he calls you to, may I encourage you to simply answer, Here am I, Lord - as Isaiah did in Chapter 6 of his book, when called into the ministry.

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 4. I will then key in on verses 5-7 -Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake here, and she will preserve you; Love her, and she will keep you. Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. 523. The Gospel According to Luke - Chapter #1 (#4) - Zacharias Prophesies the Call of John the Baptist April 3, 2024
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 3. I will then key in on verse 27 - Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, When it is in the power of your hand to do so. 281. Walking in Humility (NT-#9) Paul - 1st of 3 May 1, 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be looking at Proverb 1. I will then key in on verse 33 - But whoever listens to me (wisdom) will dwell safely, And will be secure, without fear of evil. This verse is such a powerful verse. This is a wonderful promise of God that we should want to grab hold of. This verse tells us that if we walk in wisdom that we will dwell safely (surely something we all want) and that we will be without fear of evil. In other words, we do not have to be considered with evil coming our way! Glory to God! Today we will begin a three-part series on Saint Paul. I will begin by introducing you to the man that wrote about half of the entire New Testament. In Act Chapter #9: verses 3-9, we find that Saul of Tarsus had an encounter with the living God - the Spirit of Jesus who knocked him off his donkey. He was blinded for three days, and was commissioned by God to preach to the Gentiles. I will then read Romans Chapter 3: verses 10-18 - these verses tell us that we are all sinners and that is our very nature. It also explains why we have need of a Savior. I will then read Romans Chapter 8: verses 1-6. This verse tells us that we no longer have to live according to our flesh, but that we can be led by the Spirit of God. I will then read from 1 Corinthians Chapter 13: verses 4-8. This is the great love chapter and describes the love that God had for us when He sent His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to earth for us. I will close by reading 1 Corinthians, Chapter 14: verse 1-5. These verses detail that we should seek out the gifts of the Spirit. They also inform us that we should seek the Baptism of the Holy Spirit (which will enable us to speak with "other tongues." This is the prayer language that the Holy Spirit encourages us to receive. We will have power to become emboldened to step out into the call that God has placed on each of our lives. Call to action: reach out and pay someone a compliment today or help them in any way you can to ease their burden. Suggested scripture reading: 1. Reread Proverb 1 in its entirety; 2. Reread the 8th chapter of Romans; 3. Reread in its entirety the 14th chapter of 1st Corinthians.

390. Bill & Judy Monthly Update - #6 - September 29. 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill & Judy Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 29. We will then be going over the verses that spoke to Judy and me today. On today's podcast we will review what has transpired in our lives over the last five weeks. We recently had our first guests in our home to stay for an extended period of time. Our former neighbors from Tulsa just spent a week with us. The guys played golf three times and played some pool, the four of us went out to eat a couple of times, went to a movie, went to see a beautiful sunset, and the girls spent time together cooking and just hanging out. Judy & I will be heading to Branson tomorrow for our annual get together with Judy and her sisters. We will report on that during our next month's podcast on October 27th. Judy will close us in prayer.

389. They Did Not Know the Lord - September 28, 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 28. I will then key in on verses 5 & 14. I believe these two verses pretty much go together. Verse 5 tells us: Evil men do not understand justice, But those who seek the Lord understand all. Verse 14 tells us: Happy is the man who is always reverent, But he who hardens his hear will fall into calamity. An example of these two verses is found in the Book of 1st Samuel, Chapter 2. Verses 12-17 of that chapter is entitled, "The Wicked Sons of Eli." These two young men were the sons of the priest, Eli. They took advantage of their position to do evil - and would not follow the ways of the Lord, or the instructions that they had been given (by the Lord or by their father). I will read verses 12 through 17 & then read verses 27-36 of that chapter. These two young men ended up dying on the same day. They would not heed the instructions they were given. So many lessons can be taken away from this story. Friends, we need to humble ourselves before God & be reverent of Him. Call to Action - Ask yourself if you are reverent of God. If not, pray to Him that He would open your eyes, and begin to acknowledge Him. Suggested scripture reading - 1. Reread today's proverb, Proverb 28; 2. Reread Chapter 2 of 1 Samuel in its entirety.

388. The Spirit of Gentleness - September 27, 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 27. I will then key in on verse 27 - As iron sharpens iron, So a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. Friends, to have a truly successful life, I believe that you need to have at least one (and preferably two or three) close friend (s) that we can go to when we need counsel (or prayer). Today I will go over several scripture verses:1. Galatians - Chapter 6: verse 1 - and read the commentary in my Bible (the Nelson Study Bible)2. Matthew - Chapter 7: verses 1-5 - Friends, we are not to judge people (we will be judged in the same manner that we judge people)3. James 3: verses 13-18 - When we correct someone we are to do it with the Spirit of Gentleness4. Proverb 27: 5-6 - If you are a faithful friend to someone, you will correct them - but do it with gentleness , kindness, and loveI will then review our verse of the day: Proverb 27:17. Call to action - ask yourself if you are a close friend like this to anyone, but - more importantly do you have anyone like this in your life (that you can seek advice from our go to for counsel (or prayer))? If not, I consider you begin looking for someone (preferably from church). Suggested scripture reading - Reread the proverb of the day, Proverb 27 & read it in its entirety; 2. Read the 3rd Chapter of the Book of James.

387. Brian Waite shares his personal testimony - September 26, 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 26. I will then introduce you to Brian Waite. Brian is a fellow second year Charis Bible College student. Brian grew up in the Catholic faith, but did not have a close relationship with God. He grew up feeling guilty and felt that God was anything but the loving God that we know Him to be. He was saved in 1993, but it took him over 10 years to begin to truly understand the love that God had for him. He has a wonderful healing testimony and is continuing his journey with God at Bible college.

386. Do Not go Hastily to Court - September 25, 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 25. I will then key in on verses 8-10: Do not go hastily to court; For what will you do in the end, When your neighbor has put you to shame? Debate your case with your neighbor, And do not disclose the secret to another; Lest he who hears it expose your shame, And your reputation be ruined. Friends, we live in a time in our world today where people have so little tolerance of anyone different from them and people take offense at the slightest thing. I am going to go over several scriptures today which hopefully will convince you that there is another way:1. 1 Peter 4:7-82. 1 Corinthians 13: 4-83. Luke 23: 32-344. John 13: 33-355. Hebrews 10: 12-14These verses tell us we should overlook petty sins that people commit against us; we go over the definition of love and how we know whether love is present in a certain situation, or not. We go over Jesus on the cross asking God to forgive the people who have wronged Him and put Him on the cross. We then look at Jesus's new command that He give us today - that we will be known as disciples if we have love one for another. Finally, we close with the fact that by dying on the cross, all of our sins have been forgiven for all time. Because of what He did on the cross for us, we should be quick to forgive. I will then review our verses of the day: Proverb 25:verses 8-10. Call to action: 1. Ask God to bring to your remembrance any person that you need to forgive for anything they have done against you; 2. Ask God to bring to your remembrance whether you have wronged anyone and whether there is anyone you need to ask forgiveness from. Suggested scripture reading: 1. Reread today's proverb, Proverb 25; 2. Review and meditate on the scriptures we have reviewed today.

385. Lift Jesus Higher - September 22, 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 22. I will then key in on verse 19 - So that your trust may be in the Lord; I have instructed you today, even you. Friends, we are to put our trust in God. If we do that we should honor Him by giving Him praise. We can do this by singing to Him. I will sing two short songs - This is the Day that the Lord Has Made & Lift Jesus Higher. Singing these two songs will get you in the mood to begin your day. If you begin each day with joy and Thanksgiving in your heart, and say a deliberate prayer to God prior to going to work, or beginning your day, I believe your life will begin to improve. I will review Romans, Chapter 12: verses 1 & 2 and 2 Corinthians, Chapter 5: verse 17. I will then go over the words of Jesus found in Matthew's gospel, Chapter 16: verses 24-27. I will then read Psalm 19 in its entirety. Call to Action: Ask God if you are living the abundant life God has called you to live (John 10:10)? If the answer to that question is no, ask God what it is that you need to change in your life. We are to be thankful and offer our lives as a living sacrifice. Our life is not longer ours to live, but we are to lay our lives down at the altar to follow Jesus. Suggested scripture reading: 1. Reread Proverb 22 today; read Proverb 23 tomorrow; and Proverb 24 on Sunday.

384. Your Work is Your Ministry - #6 (Recap) - September 21, 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 21. I will then key in on verse 5 - The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty; But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty. I will begin today's podcast by reading the commentary in my Bible (the Nelson Study Bible) for this verse. I will then review several things:1. If you do not enjoy going to work, the first thing you should do is go to God in prayer and ask Him if this is the job that He would like for you to be in2. The most important thing is life is to have a good relationship with God and that you have established a habit of going to Him in prayer whenever you have a need - Everything in life we do comes out of the relationship you have with the Father3. If you do not like going to work because you do not like the job that you do -a. ask your immediate supervisor if there are any alternative jobs at your company that you might be better suited for; b. ask if there are any classes that you could possible take to gain more skills and thus qualify for a higher-paying job; c. change your attitude about the present job you do and do Colossians 3: 23 - do everything heartily as unto the Lord4. If you do not like some of the people that you work with, remember that God loves every single one of us, and that if God loves someone, so should we; again you may need to change your attitude about that certain "sandpaper" person (if you didn't listen to yesterday's message, please check it out).5. I will review today's verse - Proverb 21: verse 5 which says that plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty. Friends, if you don't enjoy going to your job (for whatever reason) you have to plan to change some of the things you are currently doing as far as your job are concerned.6. Two things that you should never do - if you don't like your job, begin drinking (such as having a couple of drinks during your lunch hour). Nothing good will ever come out of that. Second, if you do not like your job NEVER quite out of frustration or anger prior to getting another job.Suggested scripture reading: 1. Reread the proverb of the day, Proverb 21 today; read Proverb 22 tomorrow, and Proverb 23 on Sunday.

383. Your Job is Your Ministry - #5 - September 20, 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 20. I will begin the podcast by reviewing the series that we are currently on. Last week I spend Monday's, Wednesday's, and Thursday's podcasts on people who do not enjoy going to work because they do not like the job that they do. I gave a number of suggestions of things you could possibly do to improve your situation. On Monday's podcast I talked about people who are extremely shy and do not like working (or getting along) with people. This could possibly cause hardships at work. Today we will be looking at situations where you have a "sandpaper" person that you have to work with on a regular basis. I will begin today's podcast by looking at Proverb 20:verse 1 - Wine is a mocker, Strong drink is a brawler, And whoever is led astray by it is not wise. Friends, that absolute worst thing you can do if you do not like your situation at work is to begin drinking because of it. An example of this would be to have a "couple drinks" on your lunch break. Nothing good can come from this. Instead, try thinking about the following scriptures: Proverb 18:21; Psalm 141:verse3; Ephesians 4: verse 29 & Colossians 3: verse 23. Call to Action: If you have a sandpaper person that you work on a regular basis with I invite you to follow the recommendations mentioned on today's podcast. Suggested scripture reading: 1. Reread today's proverb, Proverb 20 in its entirety; 2. Review & meditate (and possibly commit to memory) the verses mentioned above.

381. Your Job is Your Ministry - #4 - September 18, 2023
Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 18. I will then key in on verse 1 - A man who isolates himself seeks his own desire; He rages against all wise judgement. Friends, last week I spent Monday's, Wednesday's, & Thursday's podcasts on people who may not currently enjoy the particular job that they have ( you may want to listen to either or all of those prior to listening to this). This week I will be spending Monday's, Wednesday's, and Thursday's podcasts on people who enjoy their job, but they are not enjoying success in relationships in the workplace. Verse 1 speaks of this. This person seeks to isolate himself and does not try to get along with people or reach out to people at work. Friends, this is not a good way to be - and if this is you there is a good chance that you are not enjoying work very much. I will go over the commentary in my Bible (the Nelson Study Bible) for this verse. I will then ask you to entertain the idea of being a verse 24 person -A man who has friends "must himself be friendly." If this is you, I applaud you. You are probably well liked at work, and enjoying your job. Call to action - ask yourself if you are more of a verse 1 person, or 24 person? If you are more of a verse 1 person, I ask you to pray to God and ask Him to help you with this situation. Ask Him what you may need to do to change your attitude and develop a desire to get along more with the people at your place of employment. Suggested scripture reading: Reread today' proverb, Proverb 18 in its entirety.
