#351 - You Can't Be Others-Focused Until You're Self-Focused First

In the midst of the turmoil we face as a world and nation right now, are you finding yourself empty? Are you empty physically, emotionally and / or spiritually? What's your response to this state? For years, I would ignore this and just commit to "grind through it" into a state of sleep deprivation and darkness until I finally crashed. There was a cost to my body, my family and my business.   It's easy to get into this place with so much intensity coming at us in the wake of COVID-19 and murder of George Floyd and the subsequent protests. Media and social networks only intensify this state. This week, however, I saw a senior executive take a stand for herself and declare to the world that she was taking a few days off so that she would be "a better wife, community member and teammate." She took a stand to "fill her own cup so that it an overflow to others."
