36. The Unsolved Mystery of Joshua Maddux: The Boy in the Chimney
from Buried
The mysterious case of Joshua Maddux, an 18-year-old who disappeared in 2008 and whose body was found seven years later in the chimney of an old log cabin in Woodland Park, Colorado, remains unsolved. His decomposed body, found in a fetal position with only a shirt on, raised numerous questions. Despite the coroner ruling the death accidental, the cabin’s owner, Chuck Murphy, contested this conclusion, citing a metal grate that would have blocked entry into the chimney. Other peculiarities included Joshua’s neatly folded clothes inside the cabin and the chimney’s opening being blocked by a large table. Suspicions even surfaced about a potential link to a man named Andrew Richard Newman, but no conclusive evidence emerged. To this day, Joshua’s death is officially classified as accidental, but many unsettling details remain unexplained. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
