366. Calling new democratic candidates the "new Mamdani" disrespects the legacy of Jesse Jackson

I am a supporter of #zohranmamdani and have expressed that throughout his campaign. I think that it is disrespectful, however, to call new candidates for office like Councilwoman Janeese Lewis George in DC "The Mamdani of DC" or Omar Fateh the "Mamdani of Minneapolis." It is disrespectful to the legacy of Reverend Jesse Jackson and others like former Chicago Mayor Harold Washington. History matters and we need to respect the architects.
