37 - Choosing the "right" discomfort

from Unreasonably happy · host Elise Aabakken

Aaah, the skill of discomfort tolerance, a term I learned from Karin Nordin, is todays topic, and not just "How good are you at being uncomfortable?" but also "What kind of discomfort is worth it?" If both options are uncomfortable, what's the right one for me? Speaking up or not speaking up? Getting up early or being late for work? Staying or going? Not all discomfort is created equal, and what's horrendously uncomfortable for me, might be fine for you. And vice versa of course. Sometimes what seems easy, is the hardest. Oh, to be a human! I'll share my example from last week and some reminders for you, that this, too, is a situation where you can choose. All about that life you've decided on, remember? There is a lot of talk about "Choose your hard" (listen to the episode with Tina for more examples) like how it's hard to work out and also hard to be out of shape, choose your version, and this is under a similar umbrella! Also, at the end of this episode I'm inviting you to my new gratitude class, find the link to purchase below!
