38 | 12 Guilt-Free Ways to Stay Sane This Christmas - Mom Life Devotion

from Time for Mom | Self-Esteem, Routines, Mom Guilt, Priorities, Comparison, Devotional, Self-Worth · host Cheryl Davis - Wife, Mom & Daughter of the King

Hi Beautiful, I’m Cheryl — wife, girl mom, aspiring SAHM, and Jesus follower. I learned the not-so-secret ways to become the mom my girls needed by prioritizing Jesus, finding routines that worked, rejecting mom guilt when I failed, and learning what self‑esteem really is. This podcast is for moms who want Biblical encouragement and real‑life devotions. If you’re ready to build faith while washing dishes, become the mom you hoped you’d be, and love yourself the way your babies do — grab your earbuds and lock the bathroom door for a minute alone. It’s Time for Mom. Start your new year with an easy plan to refresh your relationship with God and start breathing a little life back into you. Book your FREE 30 minute Time for Mom breakthrough https://bit.ly/timeformomcoaching Offer ends December 25, 2025 In this episode, I’m sharing 12 ways my introverted self and family keep our mental health and still enjoys the Christmas chaos so you can make good memories without the emotional fallout.  Step outside and breathe in the 30° or 80° air, depending on where you live. Bundle up (or not) and take a walk. Maybe take your dog with you. Retreat to your room for a few chapters of a good book. Get up early, before everyone else, read your Bible, spend some time in prayer, maybe some journalling. Grab a relative you haven't had a chance to visit with to go on a walk or drive. Stop being a stuffy adult and play with the kids. Just make sure you wear pants with a little give, so they don't split. Take a nap. Trade knock-knock jokes with your nieces and nephews. Put a puzzle together. Give yourself and/or your family some grace. It's going to be okay if the food is a little over cooked, the sink is full, and the house is cluttered. Remember to breathe. As long as everyone is still alive and mostly un-injured after a Christmas gathering, it's been a success. Don't put so much pressure on yourself to make it special. I have lots of good memories from the things that weren't perfect. The perfect things tend to fade into oblivion. Jesus is the reason for the season. He came to have a family, a big one. Our families are a blessing we often don't treasure until they are gone, especially with how rushed we live our lives. Treasure the moments now, because they will be a treasure later.
