380. Celebrating my Wonderful Daughter and Son-in-Law - September 15, 2023

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 15. I will then key in on verse 33 - The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom, And before honor is humility. Friends, I am living testimony of this verse. I received Jesus as my Lord and Savior back in 1995. Over the years I have developed a fear of the Lord. In my eyes, my definition of having the fear of the Lord is to answer yes when he asks you to do something. Back in March of 2022, the Holy Spirit woke me up and told me to begin a podcast on wisdom. As a teacher, I welcomed the challenge and said, "Yes, Lord!" Today is podcast #380. The second part of verse 33 says that before honor is humility. When I think of that part of the verse, I can't help but think of Paul's 2nd letter to the church in Corinth. In Chapter 12, verse 9 & 10 it says: "Migrate is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." In verse 10 it concludes with this comment: "For when I am weak, then I am strong." Friends, this is right where God wants us. When we are at a point in our lives when we not longer have the strength, or wisdom, or whatever is needed - and turn to Him, He will be there for you. I then go to Psalm 127: verses 3-5 & talk about the fact that our children are a heritage from the Lord. I want to celebrate my daughter - as she celebrates her birthday today, and her marriage, as they celebrate their anniversary on Sunday, the 17th. I give testimony about the birth of my daughter and the union of their joining together in marriage 23 years ago. Call to action: Are you in a good place with your kids? Do you need to improve that relationship? If so, pray that God would give you the wisdom to say whatever you need to to make things OK. Suggested scripture reading: 1.
