Wir beleuchten das spannende Feld des Prototypings und schauen uns an, was Prototyping eigentlich ist, welche Formen von Prototypes es gibt und schauen uns entlang des Innovationsprozesses verschiedene Prototyping-Beispiele an. Dabei besprechen wir Praxisbeispiele aus Softwareentwicklung, Handel, Energiewirtschaft und Verpackungsindustrie. „Etwas Neuartiges, das modellhaft dargestellt wird.“ so könnte man Prototyp beschreiben. Wir diskutieren, ob schon Leonardo da Vinci mit Paperprototypes gearbeitet hat, wieso man bereits in der Explorationsphase Prototypen nutzen sollte, über die Macht von Verständnisprototypen und warum Babak gerne Workshop-Teilnehmer in LEGO nachbilden lässt. Wir sprechen über die drei Perspektiven: Desirability, Feasibility und Viability, diskutieren, was User sich in autonom fahrenden Autos wünschen und Babak berichtet von der Methode 'Wizard of Oz', die er für einen großen Automobilkonzern eingesetzt hat. Manuel bringt Beispiele aus der Produktentwicklung eines Stromanbieters und aus der Landwirtschaft.
