Trude Jacobsen er grunnlegger av hjelpeorganisasjonen Dråpen i Havet. I 2015 tok hun tre dager fri fra jobben for å reise alene til den greske øya Lesvos i et forsøk på å bistå de mange menneskene som flyktet langs sjøveien til Europa i utrygge gummibåter.
