43. Inside the Business of Growing the Game with Abby Liebenthal

Today I sit down with Abby Liebenthal, Founder and President of Fore the Ladies, a nonprofit on a mission to introduce more women to the game of golf.  Abby shares her experience hosting 70 clinics and other events under the Fore the Ladies banner every year, particularly the third annual The Lily Golf Getaway held at Pinehurst Resort.  She also discusses her Intro to Golf series, breaking down what participants can expect out of the event from start to finish. Finally, Abby explains how players at different levels of skill can choose the right event they need to take their golf game to the next stage.  Key Highlights ·      The lineup of golf events to be hosted in 2023 by Fore the Ladies total 70 so far! These range from golf clinics to Happy Hour events. ·      Abby shares why she’s recently decided to host more events on actual golf courses rather than in indoor facilities, explaining that playing the game out on the course makes newer players more likely to play for the long haul. ·      Fore the Ladies is planning international events, starting with Scotland. Abby shares whats in the pipeline for 2024, including their itinerary for Ireland! ·      Every opportunity that comes our way is exciting, but with each new opportunity we take on, we need to dedicate a chunk of our day to it.
