43: Mulan (2020)

It's your unofficial Disney+ podcast, reviewing the most popular stuff on Disney+! Today on the show, we’re reviewing the live-action remake of Mulan, the 2020 movie starring Yifei Liu, Donnie Yen, Tzi Ma, Jason Scott Lee, Yoson An, Ron Yuan, Gong Li, Jet Li and more! But before we do, we have a discussion on “ordering” the movie through the Disney+ app. Was it easy or hard for us? Email the show and let us know how your experience was! We DO start out with a somewhat lengthy NON-spoiler discussion on Mulan so if you haven’t watched the movie, still tune in for that and then come back and listen to the rest of the episode when you have watched it. We’ll tell you what we thought (generally speaking) of the movie, the CGI, the sets/makeup/costuming, the choreographed action scenes, the lack of singing (it’s not a musical), etc. Once we get into spoilers, we’re mostly talking about the differences it the original movie compared to the new one, what we thought of the new characters, scenes, lines, and what we think some of the overall themes and message of the movie was.
