44 | 5 Guilt-Free Tools to Break Free From Habitual Sin - Mom Life Devotion

from Time for Mom | Self-Esteem, Routines, Mom Guilt, Priorities, Comparison, Devotional, Self-Worth · host Cheryl Davis - Wife, Mom & Daughter of the King

Hi Beautiful, I’m Cheryl — wife, girl mom, aspiring SAHM, and Jesus follower. I learned the not-so-secret ways to become the mom my girls needed by prioritizing Jesus, finding routines that worked, rejecting mom guilt when I failed, and learning what self‑esteem really is. This podcast is for moms who want Biblical encouragement and real‑life devotions. If you’re ready to build faith while washing dishes, become the mom you hoped you’d be, and love yourself the way your babies do — grab your earbuds and lock the bathroom door for a minute alone. It’s Time for Mom. On January 20, 2026 at 1:00 pm PST – 2:00 pm MST – 3:00 pm CST – 4:00 pm EST (Pick your time zone!), I will be hosting a free Time for Mom Breakthrough Workshop! We will walk through simple ways for you to: Stay rooted Christ without the mom guilt. Find joy in serving your family Maybe even find time for yourself when it seems like everyone needs something from you. If Motherhood turned your life upside down, this workshop is for you! In this episode, I’m sharing about lessons on habitual sins inspired from coughing fits so you can be encouraged to break free from those things that are causing guilt in your SAHM life.  Some truths about habitual sin: Habitual sin will rob you of joy, peace, innocence, relationships, health. Habitual sin breaks trust and causes a cascade of problems. Habitual sin keeps you on edge. You're constantly on guard, trying to keep from being caught. Trying not to say the wrong thing or let on that you're doing whatever you're doing. Your character will eventually start to be warped by the very thing you are hiding. Sin gets so comfortable it seems like a snug, warm coat. Wrapped tight on a cold day and it's not until you get back inside that you realize what you thought was a snug, warm coat is a straitjacket that is robbing you of true freedom. Sin is a robber, thief, and vandal. Sin vandalizes the beautiful parts of your spirit causing unerasable damage. You might repair it, but you're never going to be the same. Praise God that He works with imperfect people. Here are five things that helped me in the fight against habitual sin. Find an accountability partner or two or three! As many as you need. Be rid of anything that you currently have that is helping you fall into sin. For some people this means actively avoiding specific places or people. For others this means filling the spaces with people who fill them with life. Read the Bible as often as you can. Listen to it on your phone. Scripture is a powerful tool. Pray. Any time you feel tempted, pray and reach out to those accountability partners so that they can join you in prayer. The power of prayer is compounded when you are joined by fellow believers. Worship.
