44 Lessons for 44 Years

from Far From Perfect with Kylie Larson · host Kylie Larson

A special birthday episode by your's truly. A few recurring themes from my life. Thank you for being here and letting me share my thoughts with you.  You don’t have to grow up. Sometimes the people who love you the most don’t support your dreams because they just want you to be safe. Changing your mind isn’t quitting. It starts with one. Hard work done consistently will get you farther than you ever imagined. Success is simply a matter of just staying in the game. Growing stronger feels better than suffering to be smaller. Nobody is special. Even the most successful people are just normal people. You can do things your way. Not the way they are “supposed” to be done. Everything is worse is your head. Start before you’re ready. No one has it easy, no matter what you think. All of us just want to be seen and loved unconditionally. The slow way is the fast way. Done is better than perfect. You’re the only one who can create the life you want. Energy is everything. Protect and recharge yours at all costs. You don’t have to be miserable to want something more or different. No one knows what they are doing…trust me. There’s a big difference between alone and lonely. You can make yourself believe anything, choose wisely. There’s no timeline for your life. You can decide who you want to be. Good things take time. Under-promise, over deliver. You have to do something to get something. You can’t just want it. Life really starts at 40. Nostalgia is a lie. It might be someone else’s fault, but it’s your responsibility fix it. If you don’t do anything about “it”, your forfeit the right to complain about it. There’s no such thing as the perfect plan. Be flexible. Treading water is hard, but better than drowning. Maintenance is progress. There’s nothing wrong with me…or you. You don’t have to make your bed. The worst case scenario hardly ever happens. You’ll never regret working on yourself. Bad times don’t last forever, neither do the good times. The right way isn’t usually the easy or quick way. No one is thinking about you as much as you are worried about them thinking about you. You can fake perfection, but you can’t fake real. Most people are addicted to a life they don’t even like. Start by getting clear on what you DON’T want. After every level, is another level. So chill and enjoy where you are.
