47: IGN's Best Game Ever: A Retrospective

from Beat of the Month: Video Game Podcast · host Beat of the Month Crew

Back in September, IGN hosted a bracket to determine the best game ever made. Some complete omissions, early eliminations, and the final result all had some controversy. So, the Beat of the Month crew decided to look at the entire bracket - match up by match up - and share our thoughts. Batman: Arkham City vs. Super Mario 64? Rise of the Tomb Raider vs. Half-Life 2? Burnout 3: Takedown vs. Chrono Trigger - easy decisions, right? Maybe not... We also discuss how the IGN list was chosen and what considerations should be made when deciding a 'best' games list. We close out with discussion on what games were omitted that we feel should have been included. It was a lot of fun to cover a huge list of great game matchups, so please join us!
