Welcome to The Not Old Better Show.  I'm Paul Vogelzang, and this is episode #476.

As part of our Smithsonian Associates Healthy Living series, we've got two great interviews, back to back.

Hopefully you've already heard episode #474, with Dr. Anthony Fauci, and today we're so fortunate to speak with Actor Alan Alda, host of the Clear+Vivid podcast and co-founder of the Center for Communicating Science at Stony Brook University, knows his way around sharing tough scientific topics in clear and engaging ways. Together, they are a perfect pairing to parse the intricacies of the virus that has held us in sway since March.

Join me for part 2 with Alan Alda, and join both of them for an evening of thoughtful, informative discussion on the topic gripping the country at Smithsonian Associates Sept 23, 2020. There's also an opportunity for a Q&A session after the conversation.

Please welcome to The Not Old Better Show via internet phone, Alan Alda.

My thanks to Alan Alda for his work, and willingness to join us today.  My thank, as well, to the wonderful Smithsonian team for all they do to support the show.  My thanks to you, our wonderful Not Old Better Show audience.  Remember, stay safe everyone, practice smart social distancing, and Talk About Better.  The Not Old Better Show.  Thanks, everybody.

Behind Their Success Podcast Abs Mechial I started working in my dad's convenience store when I was about 11 years old (cliche, I know) Since then, I have not stopped working. I’ve had many jobs and worked with lots of inspiring and successful people. I then set up my own business, and I have crossed paths with many other successful entrepreneurs and business owners. From a very early age, I was always intrigued by how some people would achieve so much, yet others would struggle.I carried this through my entire working career. When I started a new role, I would often spend a lot of time observing and studying the top performers. Over the years, I have noticed patterns in overachievers, many of which I have incorporated into my work, business and lifestyle. I truly believe we work so much better when we collaborate and learn from each other, whether learning positive habits and skills to learning from each other's failures and shortfalls.I have started a podcast where I speak to high performers within various industrie OGs Not Old Heads Oktane and Shug The OGs Not Old Heads Podcast is your go-to podcast for the latest and greatest in the world of Hip-Hop, hosted by the dynamic duo, Oktane and Shug. The Gambler by Katherine Thurston Loyal Books Clodagh, 18 years old, is the eldest daughter of Dennis Asshlin, an Irish gentleman who lives in an area of Ireland called Orristown. Dennis is passionate, proud and indebted to no one. But, Dennis has an obsession with gambling that is leading the family to ruin. When tragedy strikes, Clodagh finds herself in a situation where she must defend the family honor because “no Asshlin is ever obliged to anyone”. She marries a man she does not love who is many times her age and is thrust from adolescence to adulthood literally overnight. Clodagh travels to Europe and mingles with people of society and fashion which through her immaturity, she believes is her right. She finds instead uncertainty, despondency, and deceit. Her emotions are constantly in battle with reality as she discovers her society acquaintances are not the “friends” she believes them to be. During her visit to Europe, Clodagh discovers that she too is burdened with the Asshlin curse for gambling which eventually leads to mo mr. nice guy mr. nice guy Live Love Mental Health perspective of a 32 year old young man with PTSD and some other labels who just started my own Media Company.
