48. Freedom Series: Fauxgiveness
from Your Enriched Self · host Mylene Noir
Would you rather be right, or would you rather be happy? It's an internal question we battle with on the road to forgiveness. When you think about it, forgiveness often feels like we are giving up a part of ourselves. But is that a bad thing to give up what no longer serves you?We all have opinions on what is right and wrong according to our perceptions, and we can all find ways to justify our feelings. We want to punish others for what they did to us. But, we are the ones replaying the story over and over in our minds. It's foolish to punish the present because someone hurt us in the past.We must learn to move from hurting and hating to healing and reconciliation. Lessons of forgiveness, you can establish healthier relationships, reclaim the happiness that should be yours, and achieve lasting peace of mind. Remember, life becomes easier when you learn to accept the apology you never got. Growth and reconciliation is a mindset, and that is freedom!Affirmation of the week:As I forgive myself it becomes easier to forgive others Quote of the week:“To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover that the prisoner was you.”― Lewis B.
