Deepak Chopra - Interview Total Meditation

The Not Old Better Show, Smithsonian Associates Art of Living Series

Welcome to The Not Old Better Show. I'm Paul Vogelzang, and this is episode #482.

As part of our Smithsonian Associates author interview series, our guest today is Deepak Chopra, appearing at Smithsonian Associates via Zoom, Sept. 29…more details on our web site and at Smithsonian Associates.

How can an ancient practice help us face an uncertain future, especially in times during COVID? Two and a half millennia ago, the Buddha taught that inner peace and freedom could be developed and cultivated through training in the mindfulness, compassion, and insight found in the practice of meditation. And research in neuroscience confirms key understandings of this timeless tradition.

Join us today with Deepak Chopra as he draws on his new book Total Meditation: Practices in Living the Awakened Life to examine why meditation can serve as a potentially powerful tool to meet the challenges of the moment.

Deepak Chopra, who has been at the forefront of the meditation revolution for the last 30 years, shares how meditation awakens new levels of awareness that can cultivate a clear vision, heal suffering in your mind and body, and help recover who you really are. He leads a short meditation practice to get you started on the path to a centered self-meditation practice at the conclusion of the program.

My thanks to Deepak Chopra, who will be presenting at Smithsonian Associates on September 29, 2020, via Zoom. Details are available on our web site, or at Smithsonian Associates. Deepak Chopra's new book Total Meditation: Practices in Living the Awakened Life is available, too. Check out the details on the Smithsonian Associates web site. Thanks, too, to the wonderful Smithsonian team for all their help and assistance with the show, and my thanks to you, our wonderful Not Old Better Show audience. Stay safe everyone, and practice smart social distancing, and remember to Talk About Better. The Not Old Better Show. Thanks, everybody.

I’ve had many jobs and worked with lots of inspiring and successful people. I then set up my own business, and I have crossed paths with many other successful entrepreneurs and business owners. From a very early age, I was always intrigued by how some people would achieve so much, yet others would struggle.I carried this through my entire working career. When I started a new role, I would often spend a lot of time observing and studying the top performers. Over the years, I have noticed patterns in overachievers, many of which I have incorporated into my work, business and lifestyle. I truly believe we work so much better when we collaborate and learn from each other, whether learning positive habits and skills to learning from each other's failures and shortfalls.I have started a podcast where I speak to high performers within various industrie OGs Not Old Heads Oktane and Shug The OGs Not Old Heads Podcast is your go-to podcast for the latest and greatest in the world of Hip-Hop, hosted by the dynamic duo, Oktane and Shug.
