Full article and show notes available at: tashcorbin.com/493Bots and AI Slop Have Done Us a FavourI know this might be a bit of a hot take, but I honestly believe that all the bot-driven and AI-generated clutter in our social media feeds is actually doing us a favour as online business owners. Before we get into it, let’s start with an easy place of agreement: Our feeds are stuffed full of content we just don’t want—especially the kind I call “AI slop.” It’s content designed to get your attention, distract you, and keep you scrolling, but it doesn’t actually give you anything valuable. Sometimes it’s engagement bait, rage bait, or pure opinion bait, but it doesn’t have to be. Even the bot-generated, automated stuff has changed our social media experience—and I know I’m not alone in hating it. But that’s not my controversial take. My real hot take? All this has actually created new opportunities for us.Let’s break down what’s really going on, what we can do about it, and why being human has never mattered more.PLUS for #Tashmas day 8, I have another special bonus.Wait… What is #Tashmas?I do it for both my birthday (1-12 March) and pre-Christmas (1-12 December) every year! Every day up to the 12th of December, there will be a new daily podcast episode, with a hot tip or practical strategy as per usual… but you ALSO get a gift! The daily gift could be a freebie, a special offer, a competition… but there will be something for YOU every single day.The Impact of AI Content and Bot AccountsFirst things first, the insane amount of AI content and the rise of bot accounts have made it so much harder for us to truly connect as humans on social media. And, yes, this is a big deal for small business owners trying to grow organically. We’re not just putting out content into the void—we’re up against content designed by AI just to suck people in.If you’re starting out, building a following can feel impossible. Sometimes when you post, it feels like only bots see the content. And, because I’ve started my business and my Facebook page back in 2013, I need to acknowledge the privilege that comes with a 12-year head start.A lot of the advice out there—especially what you might hear from people with big audiences—simply doesn’t work for people just starting. What got results 6–8 years ago, or works if you already have traction, often does nothing for a newbie with zero reach. That’s why, in the Take Off program, I make it my business to keep up with what works for people starting from scratch—no built-in audience, no head start, nothing. And let’s be honest, getting seen online now means competing with a crowded, bot-filled space....read the full article at: tashcorbin.com/493Let me know your thoughts via our Text FanMail!Join us in Noosa at the Heart-Centred Business Conference in September!Find out more and secure your ticket at: tashcorbin.com/conference
