Having graduated from The University of Sydney with a Bachelors of Dental Surgery in 2001, Dr Katyal entered private general dental practice and also completed a Master of Science in Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology) from The University of Sydney. In 2013 Dr Katyal attained the degree of Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Orthodontics from The University of Adelaide as well as Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh.   Her research interests are in the field of pediatric sleep-disordered breathing, snoring and oral appliances, which has been published in both Australian and American orthodontic journals. She has also been awarded the prestigious Sam Bulkley AB Orthodontics Traveling fellowship to continue her research in Germany in the area of miniscrew-assisted rapid maxillary expansion in children and adolescents. She is also actively involved in setting up a multidisciplinary pediatric sleep clinic at Westmead Children's hospital.   She has been an invited lecturer for major Australian orthodontic and international conferences as well as sleep medicine conferences. Recently her research was featured on Channel 9 national news, ABC radio, 4BC radio, The Daily Telegraph, The Sun Herald and more.   Currently she is the head orthodontist at CCC Smiles in Mosman, Sydney and also the lead lecturer for BOSS-Best Orthodontic Seminars & Sessions in Australia.
