4th Session - Pentecost

In the fourth in our series on the Feasts, Dr. Congdon examines the next mountain-top historical event of the nation of Israel at Mt. Sinai. There, on Pentecost, Moses and the people of Israel ratified their "constitution" for the new nation. Like other feasts of the Lord, this feast not only affects the nation of Israel but is vital to every true Believer in Jesus Christ for at a later Pentecost (Acts 2), God revealed the mystery of the Church. But the primary focus of the feast is far more than the birth of the church, for it demonstrates the ultimate reconciliation of the Jewish and Gentile peoples as Paul describes in Ephesian 2. Following the concept of First Fruits, this feast is also a feast of first fruit, the wheat harvest, and an understanding of this feast graphically enlarges our understanding of the Lord's words - "Say not ye, There are yet four months and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white [ripe] already to harvest" (John 4:35).
