The Church at Thyatira Rev. 2:18-29

The message to the church at Thyatira, the smallest church of the ones of Revelation 2 and 3, is the longest letter from the Lord Jesus Christ to any of the seven letters of Revelation 2 and 3. It appears that the Lord viewed this church and its compromise with world paganism in Thyatira, as among, if not, one of the gravest dangers being experienced by the churches of John's day and OUR DAY. In this letter the Lord teaches them how to resist compromise with the world around them and how to counter its influences in their church, as well as in our churches. The solution is to "hold fast" using the discernment between good and evil, that they had learned. This video suggests how to learn discernment, for it is not inherent in Christians, and the need to exercise discernment in their lives according to Hebrews 5:14. The Lord's message is extremely important to we who are living near the end of the Church Age. 0:00 The City of Thyatira 7:38 The Church at Thyatira 10:42 What They did Right! 12:06 The Lord's Rebuke for What They did Wrong! 22:06 The Lord's servants at Thyatira 24:49 The Bride of Christ's Future 35:34 What Must We Do!

The Church at Pergamos Rev 3:1-6

The church at Pergamos (Pergamum) was a church in the middle of a spiritual conflict or war, just at the name, Pergamos, has the root meaning of watchtower or fortified structure. This city was famous as a major cultural, intellectual, and religious (pagan) center of the Roman world. Known for the second largest library of the empire, the "seat" of Satan, and the temple for worshiping Asclepios, the Greek god of medicine, healing, and rejuvenation, and symbolized by a serpent-entwined staff. For the believers in the church, they were surrounded by spiritual enemies and at the same time enemies within the membership. Learn how they and we, as the future Bride of Christ can know victory in a sinful world.

The Church at Smyrna Revelation 2:8-11

The city of Smyrna, whose name means myrrh, is forever remembered as a city in which its citizens constantly faced the sweetness of life and the bitterness of death every day of their life. For the church, their poverty and persecution often led to a longing for comfort in their world. In this letter, Jesus Christ offers them and us, three aspects of comfort when under trials that would bring the ultimate reward to all true believers. This letter reminds us uniquely of the Lord as The King Who loves His future bride as we see Psalm 45 speaks of His garments smelling of myrrh. 0:00 Introduction - Psalm 45 9:17 The 1st Aspect of Comfort 17:12 The 2nd Aspect of Comfort 22:09 The 3rd Aspect of Comfort 26:34 The Lord's Promise to His Future Bride

The Church at Ephesus Rev. 2:1-7

What "First Love" had the Church of Ephesus lost or more correctly, abandoned. Thirty years after Paul's founding of the church in Ephesus in 60 AD and the ongoing teaching by Apollos, Timothy, and John, the Lord commends this church for its intense ongoing spiritual labor unto weariness in serving the Lord. The Lord offers no criticism of their actions and spiritual lives with respect to these activities, except for the "nevertheless" of verse 4…. Nevertheless, literally "despite all," emphasizes a very strong word against them. This busy, industrious, laboring, discerning, persevering church that hated what the Lord hated apparently abandoned their "first love" of Him! In fact they had not merely lost their first love as if it was something lost by accident and could not be found; rather this was a deliberate action on their part to turn their back and walk away from their first love. Using the clues in the passage this video will define the "First Love." all believers should all their lives. 0:00 Church at Ephesus 4:40 Things "which are" 13:00 Commendation of Ephesus 23:02 The "First Love" - That Which was Lacking 23:24 The first of 5 clues as to what "First Love" is 36:23 Defining "First Love"

Portrait of the Lord Jesus Christ - Rev. 1:9-20

How do you picture the Lord Jesus Christ? This video is a study of the only correct and true portrait of the Lord in the Bible. Following a brief study of John the Apostle as portrayed in verse 9 and 10 this video offers an in-depth look of the Lord Jesus Christ as portrayed in verses 11-20. He is pictured as the overseer of all true churches. Uniquely, verses 14-16, is the only physical description of the Lord in His glorified body, as He is today and forever. This is the same infinite God-Man Who will return to the earth to rule and reign with His Bride, the church, for 1000 years and on into eternity.

Are We Living in the Last Days of the Church-Age? - pt 1

This "Breakfast with Rob" will study three characteristics that uniquely come together as a signal of the last days of the Church-Age. Only when all three characteristics are present, will the stage be set for the Lord to bring His Bride, all true believers, home at the Rapture. In this video, Part 1, we will see the first characteristic: Worldwide spiritual apostasy in a majority of Christian Churches In our next video, Part 2 - will examine current trends that are allowing apostasy to enter their churches. In Part 3 - the second signal: Lawlessness at the individual, national, and international levels In Part 4 - the third signal: Hatred and vilification of God and those who the world perceives as representing Him 0:00 Are We Living in the Last Days of the Church Age? 3:27 The Start of the Church's Last Days - When? 18:56 The Season of Apostasy - Now!

How to be Controlled/Filled by the Holy Spirit

The greatest need of the Christian is to "abide" in Christ by being filled/controlled by the Holy Spirit for life and service to the Lord. The Bible does not give specific steps to take to be filled. Instead, it teaches a believer the principles of how to have a consistent walk with the Spirit. Unlike the Holy Spirit permanent indwelling within the true believer at salvation; walking and being controlled by the Spirit is a minute-by-minute, hour-by-hour, day-by-day choice by the believer to yield to the Spirit and to depend upon His direction and leading. Being lead by the Spirit is not automatic, it takes a conscious effort by a believer, who must learn to walk with and talk with the Spirit. Please join us now to learn how. 0:00 Review of part 1 – What is the Filling of the Spirit? 1:51 The Key to being filled or controlled by the Spirit. 12:31 The needed desire to walk with and talk with the Spirit. 13:52 Learning to walk at the Spirit's pace and not our own. 17:36 Walking consistently with the Spirit. 22:05 Talking with and hearing the Spirit during your walk with Him. 24:23 Yielding to and dependent upon the Spirit. 25:46 Summary of the actions in our life needed to be controlled by the Spirit.

What is the Filling of the Holy Spirit - pt. 1

The greatest need for every individual is to trust Jesus Christ as personal Savior. The Holy Spirit of God then enters into the new believer and permanently dwells within him or her as a seal or promise of future redemption and glorification of the body. Although the Spirit will always reside with the believer, offering comfort and spiritual guidance, the greatest need of the Christian is to "abide" in Christ by yielding control to the Holy Spirit' leading. This is a daily act of the will for every believer. The filling of the Holy Spirit allows the Spirit to guide the thoughts, speech, attitudes, conduct, and labors—in response to certain conditions met by the believer. Part 2 of this series will explain how to "meet" these conditions by walking with the Spirit, in total dependence upon Him. 0:00 Introduction 2:13 What is the Filling of the Holy Spirit 9:56 Fundamental Truth of Being Filled

The Sealing of the Holy Spirit

In a very insecure and unpredictable world, believers in the Lord Jesus Christ possess within themselves the only true security and peace that is available—the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. How can we know for certain that our future is secure? That certainty is guaranteed by God the Father through His gift of the "seal" of the Holy Spirit. Though seldom taught, it is vitally important for every believer to understand how and why this seal guarantees our future inheritance as joint heirs with Christ. 0:00 Introduction 5:00 Calvinism's false teaching of the process of salvation 7:48 The Biblical teaching of the process of salvation 8:23 My testimony of salvation 10:05 The Seal of the Holy Spirit - what does that really mean? 12:20 Who does the sealing? 15:34 Who maintains the integrity of our inheritance 20:15 God's pledge to the believer

"In His Name" - What does that mean?

This message was delivered at Calvary Baptist Church in Greer, SC at the Wednesday evening prayer meeting. It teaches the 5 aspects of praying "In Jesus' Name." "At that day" in John 16, speaks of a new prayer relationship between believers and God the Father that began at the Lord Jesus Christ's ascension to the Father's right hand. From that "day" until now, we can now pray "In Jesus' Name." This message explains all that is included in this unique privilege for all true believers. 0:00 Introduction 4:32 At that day... 15:05 First Aspect: In His Name Reflects the Nature of Christ 18:33 Second Aspect: In His Name Reflects the Character of God 22:56 Third Aspect: In His Name Reflects His Position to God the Father 25:32 Fourth Aspect: In His Name Reflects His Authority and Power 29:41 Fifth Aspect: In His Name Reflects His Will and NOT ours

The Upper Room and the 4th Cup of Passover

This video takes us back to the Upper Room in Jerusalem as Time Travelers on the night the Lord Jesus Christ observed the Passover, or Last Supper, with His disciples. This video is not based upon traditions, but upon Scriptural records and 1st century documents. The focus is upon the four ceremonial cups taken during this Passover meal that represent the events in Egypt when the Lord's delivered His chosen nation from bondage. These cups also represent spiritual deliverance and salvation from the bondage and penalty of sin. While Christians appropriately focus upon the unleavened bread and the 3rd Cup of Passover that represents the Lord's body and His shed blood, they often missed the fact that the Lord did not partake of the 4th Cup that night. By doing this we Ignore or misunderstand what Paul meant when he said that this observance of Lord's Table is to continue "...till He come" (1 Cor. 11:26). Without an understanding of the Passover meal as observed that night, and the significance of the 4th Cup, the Lord's Table (Communion) can not be fully understood. By following the thread that permeated the Lord's teaching through the four cups during the Passover meal that night, we gain a far greater understanding of God's plan for His kingdom. At the meal's end, the Lord left the 4th Cup empty and not taken. Because it looks forward to His 2nd coming and rule as Messiah-King. Most Bible commenters either ignore or unaware that this cup is one of the most significant aspects of the Passover and the Lord's Table. Please join us now as we consider this 4th Cup and it present and future significance for believers. 0:00 Introduction - Go Back in Time 9:00 1st Cup - Cup of

The Parakletes - the Holy Spirit our Strength - John 14

Often misunderstood, this video begins a series of studies on the function of the Holy Spirit within the Triune God. Focusing on the teaching of John 14, Dr Congdon explains the meaning of the Comforter, the Parakletes, Who is the Holy Spirit. Here you will come to a fuller understanding of what it means to "comfort" us (no, not the meaning that first comes to your mind) and "abide" within every true believer. In John 14, the Lord offers four assurances of help to all believers through the work of the Holy Spirit. 0:00 Introduction 5:46 An Overview of what the Holy Spirit does in the Beliver 9:08 A Study of John 14 11:40 1st Assurance of Help from the Holy Spirit 14:10 2nd Assurance of Help from the Holy Spirit 16:22 3rd Assurance of Help from the Holy Spirit 19:56 4th Assurance of Help from the Holy Spirit For more video and teaching go to CMI-TV.net

Pt 4 The Final Events of Daniel Prophetic Clock - The Mysterious 75-Days of Daniel 12

Part 4 of our series of Daniel 12, found only in the Book of Daniel, concludes with a study the events during the 75 days. These events are a fitting fulfillment of Daniel's 70-Week prophecy and God's six goals of that prophecy. In Daniel 12 we see preparation of the world for the coming Millennial Kingdom and three goals He will accomplish during the 75 days. The events of these days will affect every one of us and world history for the Millennium. 0:00 Introduction 2:15 Reviewing the Time Periods of Daniel 12 13:25 Solving the Mystery 15:16 Anointing the Most Holy 24:18 Bringing in Everlasting Righteousness 41:05 To Seal Up [end] the Vision and Prophecy

    Pt 3 What Happened on April 6, 32 AD - Daniel 9 & 12 Prophecy

This video explains the significant events of April 6, 32 AD, the 10th day of the first month, that fulfilled Daniel's 69th week prophecy. Dr. Congdon creates a biblical chronology of that fulfillment demonstrating a seldom taught link between this day in 32 AD and Israel's entry into the Promised Land on the very same day of the month, hundreds of years before. With this unique understanding you will come to a greater appreciation of what the Lord did on April 6, 32 AD, Palm Sunday or more appropriately why it is called The Triumphal Entry. Additionally, this chronology resolves the apparent contradiction between the Bible's record of Jesus being crucified on a Friday and resurrected on the following Monday, just 3 days and 2 nights in the grave, and our Lord's statement in Matthew that He would be in the grave 3 days and 3 nights. Please join us in this fascinating study of the events of the Crucifixion week. 0:00 Introduction 2:30 The "After" of Daniel 9:26 Prophecy 6:10 Do the 62-week Prophecy and the 69-week Prophecy End of the Same Day 9:50 Creating the Necessary Chronology - a unique biblical calendar 20:30 BUT what about the 3 Days and 3 Nights of Matthew 12:40 27:30 April 6, 32 AD - what really was fulfilled on that day in history

Pt 2 Determining the Start of the Seventy-Week Prophecy of Daniel 9 - 75-Day Gap of D

Before solving the mystery of the 75-day gap of Daniel 12, the starting date of the Seventy-Weeks prophecy of Daniel 9:25 must be determined. In this video, Dr. Congdon determines that date on which the prophetic history begins. This determination depends upon finding the correct king's decree that fits the three conditions described in Daniel 9:25. Four possible biblical decrees are considered but only one meets the criteria of the prophecy. Once knowing the decree's date, Dr. Congdon determines the length of a biblical month and year in order to know when the fulfillment of Daniel 9:25 occurred in history. Interestingly, a recent archeological find adds support to this prophecy. 0:00. Throne of Judgment pt 1 of 2

God's Judgment is something most people worry about some time in their lives. This session examines three judgments mentioned in the Bible: the Judgment during the Tribulation, The Judgment Seat of Christ (in reality the Bema and not a Judgment), and the Great White Throne Judgment (erroneously call Judgement Day). In Part 1, Dr Congdon shows the false concept of Calvinism and clearly defines the biblical truth of God's thrones of judgment as seen in the very character of God and the demands for righteous justice. Using Scripture he defines the fives steps of biblical judgment that leads to a separation from God if one does not accept God's gift of Salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. Using the Apostle John's description, the throne is described as revealed in Revelation 4. In Part 2, Dr. Congdon explains why the Judgment Seat of Christ is not truly a judgment but rather an accountability session between true believers and their Lord, Jesus Christ, and is properly called the Bema Seat of the Bride (the Church - all true believers). He then examines the difference between the Bema and the Great White Throne Judgment, showing why the Believer will not be judged at the Great White Throne of Judgment, contrary to the teaching of Calvinism that believers and unbelievers will be judge there. According to the Bible, the believer was judged at the Cross of Christ and will face no condemnation after they accept Christ as their Savior.

The Holy Spirit and Jesus' First Thirty Years - Breakfast with Rob #4

In this fourth Breakfast with Rob, Dr. Congdon presents a study of the first 30 years of the Lord's earthly life as recorded only by Luke in chapter 2. The development of Jesus in His humanity after the incarnation will be discussed. At 12 years of age, when He was an adolescent, a significant turning point in Jesus' human development took place when He acknowledged God as His Father. How the infinite God-Man, Jesus Christ, depended upon the Holy Spirit to enable Him in His humanity to carry out God's plan and purposes for history provide an example of practical value for the believer to depend upon the Holy Spirit in his or her own life. Holy Spirit & the Birth of Jesus Christ

This special Christmas Breakfast with Rob examines the agency of the Holy Spirit in the birth or incarnation of the Lord Jesus Christ. Dr. Congdon demonstrates the unique miracle of the joining of the divine nature of God with the human nature of man in Jesus Christ. Not only was the Holy Spirit the agent to accomplish this, but this video demonstrates that from conception, the Lord was filled with the Holy Spirit. How much more do we need the filling or control of the Spirit in our life, if the Lord Jesus Christ needed the Holy Spirit empowering Him as well? Be sure to see our personal Christmas greeting at the end of the video.

Who is the Holy Spirit? - A Bible & Breakfast with Rob 11-16-23

This video/audio explains the Bible's definition of a "person" and demonstrates how God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are three Persons in one unity - the Trinity. Because human beings are made in the image of God; individual human persons possess the same characteristics that our Triune God possesses as a Person. Identifying and understanding these characteristics helps us to recognize that the Holy Spirit is a Person and not simply an invisible force. This understanding will help you to know how to be filled/controlled and comforted by the Holy Spirit.

Prepare Ye The Way - Pt 3 Inter-Testament Series

Why do the wicked prosper and the good suffer? When will God make things right? This was the question of people in Malachi's day. Experiencing very difficult days, watching their culture going downhill - God offered them answers. In this video, Dr. Congdon shows that Malachi's God-inspired answers to these questions are very appropriate for our days. Significantly, we can see a parallel between the failure of Israel and the modern church of today. Two paths are offered to religious people. One leads to failure and the other to reward. Highlighted are the blessings Israel had from God, the failures of Israel toward God, and the result of their failure to prepare for Christ's coming to the earth. Malachi's warning to Israel was very appropriate for true believers living in those days and even more so, for we who are living in these last times.

Pt 1 Unlocking Your Bible through Literal-Historical-Grammatical Bible Study

This video/audio demonstrates that the Bible translation you hold in your hand is an accurate representation of the text penned by the writers of the Bible. Dr. Congdon presents a comparison of the reliability of our Bible to the reliability of the ancient writings of Plato, Tacitus, Herodotus, and Aristotle. That is, since we have no original manuscripts of any of these ancient writings, but only copies from a later date that when penned, can we trust what we are reading is what they wrote? When compared, we find that our Bible has the greatest reliability with the shortest span or "gap" of time between original documents and oldest copies - greater by a factor of 10. For example, there is a gap of 1450 years between Aristotle's original manuscript and our oldest copy of his writing. But the Bible has only a "gap" of 70 years to our oldest partial copy of the original. Yet, it is the Bible's accuracy that is questioned and not Aristotle's writings, why? Following this look into literature, Dr. Congdon presents the history of our English Bible and a discussion of the manuscript families used to produce our English translations. In succeeding programs, Bible students will learn how to use readily available tools on the Internet to assure themselves that your understanding of a passage is what God truly wrote. These classes will show you how to use tools of Bible study - concordances, lexicons, Greek grammar, and more. With the proper methodology, there remains no limit to the heart knowledge available to the student willing to prayerfully study and apply the rules of proper Bible interpretation. Just Before the 400-year Silence - Pt 2 Inter-Testament Series

Part 2 - Before the 400-Year Silence This lesson considers the state of the priesthood and the people in the days just before the 400-year silence begins. The 400-year time period was between the prophet Malachi and the birth of Jesus Christ. Prior to His silence, God accused the priesthood and people of wearying Him with their false accusations against Him. This study explains the meaning behind God's statement "I loved Jacob, and I hated Esau" in Malachi 1. Clearly, God's purpose was chastisement of Israel and not its destruction.

Malachi - Just Before the Silence - Pt. 1 Inter-Testament Series

Part 1 - The Inter-Testament Period begins with the book of Malachi. This video/audio answers two major biblical questions. The first answers the puzzle as to why Daniel's 70-Week (490 years) Prophecy is divided into three periods of history? Why is the first division (49 years) never explained, while the second (434 years) and third (7 years) divisions are well defined? The second answers why this was God's last message to His beloved nation or Israel, before a 400-years silence between the book of Malachi and the birth of the Lord.

In Part 1 of this video, Robert Congdon develops an overview of God's use of kingdoms of earth as part of His plan and purpose of history. This material was presented as part of the Classes for Bereans taught by Dr. Congdon. Moving from the first kingdom of God on the earth in the Garden of Eden to God's ultimate kingdom on the New Earth, the progression shows those kingdoms used by Satan as the "god" of this world and how they have prepared the world for the coming Millennial Kingdom of Jesus Christ. When will Christ be King?

Is Jesus Christ a king today, ruling from the throne of David in heaven or not a king? Certainly as the Son of God and part of the Triune God, He is ruling all the creation, but is He a king? This video will examine this question and show that Jesus Christ can only rule as king from the throne of David in Jerusalem during the future 1000-year kingdom on earth and then will continue to rule over the New Earth. Understanding the kingship of Christ is crucial if you are to properly understand the Scriptures and its prophetic teaching. For more useful videos on in-depth Bible teaching visit www.cmi-tv.org

Representing true Israel, in God's mind, they will fulfill the two conditions for God the Father to send God the Son back to the earth to establish His kingdom as He destroys the Antichrist and binds Satan for 1000 years. This is beginning of the 2nd coming of the Lord. For all true believers of the Church-Age, you will want to see this video to better understand your part in the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth.

Pt 2 - Armageddon waits for the Antichrist

This video will answer two key questions about the time of this gathering: 1) What will cause Satan to pull out "all the stops" to annihilate Israel at this particular time in history and 2) what will motivate the Antichrist to turn against Israel and break his covenant with the nation at this time? This gathering will be Stage 1 of the Campaign of Armageddon and is the second video in the series. Stage 2 video will be available within two weeks. Pt 1 - Petra waiting for Israel

Armageddon - final battle of history? The gathering of the armies of the Antichrist on the plains of Armageddon is the first of eight steps or stages culminating in Jesus Christ's return to the earth to take His position on the throne of David as the King of the 1000-year kingdom (the Millennial Kingdom). In this first of the series, Dr Congdon explains how biblically, Armageddon is a gathering place, not for a battle, but rather the place for assembling the Antichrist's armies to begin his campaign to prevent the return to the earth of Jesus Christ. Dr Congdon will introduce viewers to the "place" God has prepared for obedient Jewish people, those following God's command in Matthew 24:16, to flee to the wilderness during the last 3 1/2 years of the 7-year Tribulation. The rest of the series will be an in-depth Bible study of each of the stages for the Return.
