During #EatingDisorderAwarenessWeek 2021, we spoke to 29-year-old Manchester photographer @GeorgieGlassPhoto about living with and recovering from an eating disorder and body dysmorphia. Speaking about her journey through diagnosis in her twenties, Georgie is now trying to un-stigmatise the disorder using her experience positively, as a trained Mental Health First Aider and raising awareness for mental well-being on social media. Silent Elephant Project (SEP) gives marginalised life limiting and long-term health conditions a platform, through creative and interactive projects. ‘An elephant in the room’ is an English-language metaphorical idiom for an obvious problem no one wants to discuss, or a condition no one wants to challenge.
