#52025/01/17(金)~ What do you mean by “33いってきます”? ~「隠語」という言葉を聞いたことがありますか?知っている人だけが理解できる特別な言葉です。例えば、デパートで働いている人たちがトイレに行くとき、「33行ってきます。」と言ったりします。お客様の前で「トイレ」という言葉を使わないためです。皆さんの国に、こういう文化はありますか?「いんご」という ことばを きいたことが ありますか?しっているひとだけが りかいできる とくべつな ことばです。たとえば、でぱーとで はたらいている ひとたちが といれに いくとき、「さんさん いってきます。」といったりします。おきゃくさまの まえで「といれ」という ことばを つかわないためです。みなさんの くにに、こういう ぶんかはありますか?Have you ever heard the term “Ingo (secret language)?”It is a special language that only people who know the meaning of understand.For example, when people working in a department store go to the restroom at work, they sometimes say“I'm going to 33”. This is to avoid using the word “restroom” in front of customers. Do you have this kind of culture in your country?【Today’s words】33 (さんさん)/ restroom ※ At some department store, it means restroom as a secret language. ↓ Here are some examples of Ingo:)・XX、山です。(XX、やまです。)/ (Literal) XX is a mountain.= XX is sold out. We’re out of XX.※ This is often used at sushi restaurants.・川中様、3階までお越しくださいませ。(かわなかさま、さんかいまで おこしくださいませ。)/ (Literal) Mr. Kawanaka, could you please come to the third floor?= There was a shoplifting on the third floor.※ At a department store, sometimes they make this announcement over the speaker to let their employees know that there was a shoplifting.
