50| The Real Reason You As a Christian Nurse Keep Thinking About Doing Something Different

It happens in the middle of a med pass. In the middle of a conversation with a patient. In the quiet of a shift that is going smoothly enough that your mind has a moment to wander. And it goes to the same place it always goes. I know I am supposed to be doing something else. Not because you do not love your patients. Not because you are not good at this. You are exceptional at this and you know it. The hard patients thank you at the end of shifts. The ones nobody else wants to go in the room for, you go. And they feel it. But underneath the pouring and the presence and the excellence is a thought you cannot make stop coming. This is not it forever.
