The idea of selling to friends stirs up memories of those uncomfortable moments. So when you’re told that your first sales will likely come from your own network, how do you make that happen without crossing boundaries or turning into “that person”? Whenever I felt like I was “selling at” someone, or pitching to a friend without knowing how they’d receive it, my body would literally react. I used to get a red rash that started in my cleavage and spread all the way up my neck and face during early sales calls, especially those first few months in business. It was so distracting – I was on video calls, watching this rash go wild, all because I was so uncomfortable with sales.
