#51: You Will Never Die | Who Am I? – Part 2

from Breaking Trail · host Balakhilya and Ruben

We learned last week that we are not our bodies; neither our gross physical body or our subtle mental body. This time we dive deeper into the truth that we don’t stop existing at the time of death. You, me, and everyone else - indeed everything around you that shows the symptoms of a life particle being present (including animals & trees) - are the life of the body. And live never ceases to be. “Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings, nor in the future shall any of us cease to be.” Bhagavad-gita 2.12 This is the second part of a 3-part series on “Who Am I?”, where we dive deep down into our actual essence. Highlights: (0:55) Even though we can’t directly perceive the wind outside, we can know it’s windy through the symptoms (trees swaying in the wind for example). Similarly, even though we can’t directly perceive the presence of life, we can detect it by its symptoms (5:53) How near-death experiences proves that we separate from our bodies through people being able to observe themselves from the outside while being “dead” (10:04) At the time of death, the shape of our mental body determines our next destination (16:24) According to the Vedas, everybody is afraid of death. But we can conquer that fear by knowing the truth; “Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings, nor in the future, shall any of us cease to be” BG 2.12 (22:07) All these true teachings are for people who want to know truth. If you meditate, things starts making sense and you start seeing the big picture. Recorded on December 27, 2021.
