from i want what SHE has · host Shana Falana and Theresa Widmann

Girl Talking about the Women's March today with special guest Radio Kingston's Hillary Harvey (The Source). Should we believe all the hype about the controversy surrounding the March and keep us from marching? What do you think? You can find the Kingston Women's History Month events that she is involved with at their Facebook page. Our first guest is Marcina Hale, co-producer of the highly impactful film "Disturbing the Peace" and co-founder of Reconsider, an organization that sparks innovation, encouraging creativity, and forms community to make our world more compassionate and connected. She asks the complicated questions, "if you're willing to stand up for someone, are you willing to stand with everyone?" She shares about the 5 movements of transformation that take place during her Reconsider workshops as well as her super top secret, secret of how to be a better human..."stop, drop and roll." You can also hear Marcina's TEDxKCWomen HERE. Our second guest is Molly Hamilton of the band Widowspeak. Molly went to an arts high school in Tacoma, Washington, did some promoting at music venues, writing about music and played music...then moved to New York City, went to the New School, worked for Bowery Presents and various other jobs. Molly talks about the organic formation of her band which quickly became a success and how that changed the pace of her life and her relationship to her music. Seeking to slow things down and reconnect with what was most important to her, she moved from Brooklyn to the Hudson Valley. There's an abundance of creativity flowing from her even though she's not recording or touring, and she is just allowing it to come into form without plan or judgement...more will be revealed! Self CARE! Theresa talks about not being afraid to ask for what you need and being open to receiving and to the magic of it all...and then to be grateful for it! Molly talks about how cooking is her self care. Oh yes, we hear that! Today’s show was engineered by Manuel Blas of Radio Kingston, www.radiokingston.org.
