Welcome to day 1 of Become Your Own Muse Challenge. Learn to use music to rewire old beliefs and to create new positive and helpful programming. What did we go through today: Music is a form of expression. It’s a way of telling a story, and research shows that music binds us in a way that language rarely does. Music can move us and stir up our deepest emotions. Not only can music bring up both pleasant and unpleasant memories and therefore influence your mood. Song lyrics can certainly encourage many deeply held unhelpful beliefs - this is why it is important to be mindful of what you listen to. Music has recently been seen as beneficial for depression recovery, however, according to research it does depend on the type of music: Classical and meditative sounds seem to be uplifting, while heavy metal and techno can actually make depressive symptoms worse. It's important to remember that every word, every sentence you say is forming the blueprint that your mind uses to make decisions and your body must work towards until it becomes your reality.
