"Ich nütze die Medien, um meinen Glauben nach außen zu bezeugen", sagt Pater Karl Wallner im "Heute Backstage"-Podcast. Am Beginn der Karwoche spricht über den höchsten katholischen Feiertag – Ostern. "Es geht um die Versöhnung mit Gott – und darum, dass es nach dem Tod weitergeht", erläutert der Geistliche. Er spricht mit "Heute" auch über die zusehende Islamisierung und warum sich die Kirche mehr anstrengen muss, um zu wachsen. "Bitte geht zu Ostern wieder in die Kirche", sagt Pater Karl. Nachsatz: "Und wenn ihr Schwellenangst habt: Es wird euch niemand schief anschauen." Er stützt sich auf das "große Glaubenspotential" im Land. Hintergrund: "Ich habe bemerkt, dass Leute, die nur selten kommen, oft eine auch persönlich sehr tiefe subjektive Gläubigkeit haben." Grundsätzlich könne jede Sünde vergeben werden. Pater Karl: "Christentum ist Profit von der Liebe Gottes!"
