554. Gospel of Luke - Chapter 6 (#5) - We Need to Build on the Rock (that is - Jesus) - May 16, 2024

from Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley · host Bill Kelley

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 16. I will then key in on verse 5 - Everyone proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord; Though they join forces, none will go unpunished. Friends, both James, the half-brother of Jesus (in chapter 4) and Peter (the leader of the disciples) - in 1 Peter, Chapter 5, tell us that God resists the proud, but that He gives grace to the humble. On today's podcast we will continue our study of the Gospel according to Luke. Today we will be completing Chapter 6. By the end of today's lesson, there are three things that I ask that you consider: 1. Why do you call me, "Lord, Lord?" 2. We need to build on the Rock (that is, Jesus). 3. If you don't follow His commandments, you are headed for ruin. Call to Action - Ask yourself how seriously you take the letters that are in "red" in the Bible? (All words found in the Bible that are in red are the actual words that Jesus spoke when He was on Earth).
