56: [Mindy Corporon] Healing A Shattered Soul

from What Came Next · host Broken Cycle Media

*Content warning: hate crimes, bigotry, racism, gun violence, child loss, parent loss, and mass murder.Mindy Corporon is a speaker, author, founder, and CEO from Oklahoma. She attributes her personal and professional success to her loving, tight-knit upbringing. However, everything she knew to be true would be deeply challenged on April 13th, 2014, when her father and son were murdered in a hate crime. Mindy has allowed her faith and her unending fortitude born from her family, to withstand all that came next for them. This includes a legal battle to convict their murderer, the publication of her memoir, Healing a Shattered Soul, the creation of a foundation, and the unending mission to inspire others wading through the throes of grief. The Broken Cycle media team is very grateful Mindy is sharing her journey with us today, as well as for her continued advocacy work. I am also personally grateful for her sisterhood in survivorship, as we are lifelong members of the same sorority. This episode is dedicated in loving memory to Reat Underwood, Dr. William Lewis Corporon, & Terri LaManno.Mindy's websitehttps://www.mindycorporon.com/Healing a Shattered Soul by Mindy Corporonhttps://www.mindycorporon.com/healing-a-shattered-soul/Real Grief, Real Healing with Mindyhttps://www.mindycorporon.com/real-grief-real-healing/Seven Days: Make a Ripple, Change the Worldhttps://sevendays.org/our-story/the-rippleLaws Against Hate Crimes Don’t Exist in Kansashttps://www.ksnt.com/news/laws-against-hate-crimes-dont-exist-in-kansas/Hate Crime Laws and Policieshttps://www.justice.gov/hatecrimes/laws-and-policiesFBI 2014 Hate Crime Statisticshttps://www.fbi.gov/news/press-releases/fbi-releases-2014-hate-crime-statisticsFBI 2022 Hate Crime Statisticshttps://www.justice.gov/crs/highlights/2022-hate-crime-statisticsUSA Today on Hate Crimes Hit Record Levelshttps://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2024/01/05/hate-crimes-hit-record-levels-in-2023-why-2024-could-be-even-worse/72118808007/How to Report a Hate Crimehttps://www.justice.gov/hatecrimes/report-a-hate-crimeHate Crime Preventionhttps://www.justice.gov/hatecrimes/hate-crimes-preventionFor additional resources or a list of related non-profit organizations, please visit http://www.somethingwaswrong.com/resources

The Sacred +Profane Podcast nephtaragrace The Sacred + Profane Podcast is a provocative conversation dedicated to cementing a better future for all. We specialize in unpacking the nuances of what is considered sacred and profane, particularly focusing on sex, death, and all that pertains to the circle of life. Our aim in focusing on such ”taboo” subject matter is to demystify what is unconscious, bring to light what has been known for centuries as ”the occult,” and empower the rapid transformation that is occurring on the Planet. Explicit The Commonality Podcast with Pilar Pilar Lyutfalieva The Commonality Podcast explores what it means to do our best in today’s messy beautiful world. Hosted by Pilar, a personal and professional coach, we dive into it all with a mix of honesty, humor, and heart. Whether it’s solo musings, breaking down weird astro sh*t, or listening to guest stories, this is your space to remember this life is non linear and you're not alone. Explicit Shut Up I Love It Sasha Feiler and Joe Cabello Many years ago, Sasha Feiler and Joe Cabello met in line for an improv show. They were young, dumb, and full of it. What followed were comedy shows so explicit, “genitalia” was practically a term of endearment.Fast forward 5 dogs, 6 cats, and way too many weird inside jokes later, Sasha and Joe are no longer young or dumb—but they’re still brimming with you-know-what. Here, they’ve teamed up to bring you a podcast where they interview a guest who passionately defends something universally hated, misunderstood, forgotten, overlooked, Mandela-effected, canceled—you name it. The key? They LOVE it. From toupees... to B-movies... to aliens, psychedelics, and the occasional surprise character, Sasha and Joe are here to spread love to the world that birthed them (but maybe should’ve used protection). So come and get that love because no one else will give it to you like we do.Also, don’t forget to check out the Patreon Bonus version of the show:https://www.patreon.com/c/ShutUpILoveItP Explicit The New Marketing Show Trinity Web Media The New Marketing Show by Trinity Web Media discusses how we as marketers are problem solvers.
