57. Leave, Keep, and Start for 2024

A new year is upon us, and it's important as fathers that we reflect on the previous year and cast a vision for the coming one. In this episode Brett and Perry take a slightly different spin on the traditional reflection and planning process and share the "Leave, Keep, and Start" framework that they're implementing in their own families this year. Brett also reveals a fresh take on the "Leave" piece of that framework and encourages listeners to consider the legacy they're building in the coming year. Finally, it's important to acknowledge that things may not go exactly as planned in 2024, no matter how carefully we strategize. Things can go sideways quickly, and they very well might given all of the political and economic uncertainty swirling around us at the moment. How should we handle that as fathers? And how does that factor in to our goal setting for the new year? We discuss all of this and more in this first episode of 2024.
