It turns out that Karban, a mon-cal cyborg/agent of palpatine, had set Vader up to either be killed by Rebels or to help Karban succeed in HIS mission of finding the rebel who blew up the Death Star. In a truly comic book style crossover, all the characters from Vader Down and the STar Wars book mash up on this planet to duke it out.  Nerd Squadron form up!
