While he does believe it's important to push yourself and do hard things, hence the title of his book, there must be connection between the difficult training or task and the mission. This is often missed, especially in the sporting world as Steve notes through his research in the book.Toughness is a wise action as defined by Steve. Sometimes we may be faced with the decision to persist knowing that it could lead to catastrophic failure or walk away knowing that the timing isn't right.
