The world continues to fracture as the party struggles to recover from the fall of Southern Towerfall. While Callum discovers that Mirabar has been reduced to a smoking crater, Wilder awakens with no memory of his past and learns he was originally sent to assassinate Orbog. At the same time, Stumblefoot infiltrates the occupied castle to recover a cache of royal gemstones, only to witness Aelin's capture by drow forces before escaping with the means to resurrect Emrine. Reunited with Orbog and Tombolg, the survivors restore Emrine to life, uncover new clues about Pough's disappearance between planes, and agree their next priority is reuniting the scattered party before the growing darkness consumes even more of the world.
