Celebrating 15 years of Star Trek (2009). After the box office failure of Star Trek Nemesis and the cancellation of Star Trek: Enterprise, Paramount essentially put the franchise to bed, and was to lay dormant for a few years. Enter J.J. Abrams, and his production team to develop a film that would reboot the franchise, by setting the film in an alternate reality based upon time travel elements from the Prime Timeline.
